Penguin algorithm data refresh announced by Google
Google’s Matt Cutts earlier announced a minor data refresh (dare we call, update) to the much publicised Penguin update. Here is Matt Cutt’s announcement from twitter:
Minor weather report: We pushed 1st Penguin algo data refresh an hour ago. Affects <0.1% of English searches. Context: goo.gl/4f7Pq
— Matt Cutts (@mattcutts) May 26, 2012
The ‘data refresh’ is reported to only affect 0.1% of English language searches but it will be interesting to see if this update will cause as much of a stir as the original Penguin update back in April. Many had widely criticised the original Penguin update for seemingly worsening SERPs in Google.
If you’ve been affected by the Penguin update or the new ‘data refresh’ then why not share your experiences in the comments below.
